Congratulations Ronan - Our Ice Croc

Ronan H from 5B returned to school on Monday after 4 weeks away on the experience of a lifetime, representing Australian Ice Hockey to the rest of the world. Ronan is the goaltender for the 2017 Ice Crocs Australia team, which competed in the Quebec
(Canada) International Pee-Wee Ice Hockey Tournament.
The trip took the team first to New York where on arrival at the airport the boys were lucky enough to be invited by the pilot to
the cockpit! Once off the plane, the team was offered a special welcome with a young fan holding up a sign “Welcome to New York, Ice Crocs!” All the other passengers who saw the sign came over to give praise to them being the best-behaved group of kids ever!
The team spent 4 days of training and competing in exhibition games in various hockey rinks in New York before heading by coach to Montreal, Canada, for a training session in one of Canada’s most prestigious ice hockey arenas and then on to Quebec City for the International tournament.
Most Valuable Player honors were taken by Ronan in the 2nd tournament game against the Rouan Dragons from France. Although the Ice Crocs didn’t win the game, they all played their hearts out, and to use the words of the coach “without Ronan H it would have been a much bigger loss. His commitment and desire to be the best he can be to the game and his team mates
is second to none!”
