Last Monday, The Minister for Education and Training, Honourable Kate Jones gave written notification honouring the State Governments 50:50 contribution towards the Drop Off & Go Zone on McCullough Street. This is outstanding news as the main pick zone for the school has been a long-term focus for our P&C, spanning more than nine years of effort and negotiation.
The Ministers announcement was backed by our local Alderman, Councillor Steven Huang who announced that there had been a bipartisan motion passed at the recent Council
meeting reaffirming Brisbane City Council’s commitment to 50:50 funding.
It is important to ensure our thanks go to both levels of Government for their ongoing support of our school. Most importantly, on behalf of our school community, I thank Waikay Lau for his tenacity and dedication to seeing this project through. I join with all parents as we look forward to seeing the final stage of this ‘battle’ for children’s safety coming to an end.
