This week, our Year Three and Five students sat the annual NAPLAN (National Assessment Program for Literacy and Numeracy) Tests. NAPLAN tests the sorts of skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life.
The tests began on Tuesday, when the students participated in the Language Conventions test and then completed the Writing task. On Wednesday, the students undertook the Reading assessment and then finished with the Numeracy paper on Thursday. Students who missed the exams from illness can catch up the papers on Friday.
I would like to thank Ms Boulter and our teachers for their work and effort in preparing the students for the testing program.
Parents can help each day by ensuring a good night’s rest before the test and a healthy breakfast on the morning of the test.
The most important use of the results of the program as a school is to interrogate the data to inform improved support for students, review our curriculum programs and inform improved
teaching practice.
