Prep Enrolments for 2026

Prep Information and Prep Tour 20 May at 9:15 am and 29 July at 5:30 pm
Prep Tour 12 September at 9:15 am
Prep Orientation Day 28 November at 8:45 am
Prep is the first year of school and provides the foundation for your child's education. It is compulsory for Queensland children to undertake Prep prior to Year 1. Prep is a full-time program in primary schools and has a defined curriculum.
Children must be five years old by the 30th of June in the year they enrol in Prep. This means that if your child was born between 1 July 2020 and 30 June 2021, they are eligible to commence in Prep in 2026.

Parents enrolling their child in school have the option of an early or delayed start. Enrolment age variations may be due to a child's development and readiness, and could improve their ability to learn.
If you are considering Early Entry to Prep, please contact the school to arrange to meet with the Principal or the delegate to discuss the early entry requirements and request an application form.

FOR FAMILIES RESIDING OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL'S CATCHMENT ARE
Prep Expression of Interest applications will open on Monday, 28 April 2025 at 9:30am. To ensure the process is equitable, the applications will be processed in order of receipt, date and time. Please do not complete the applications prior to this date and time as they will not be accepted. Enrolment of students from the outside local catchment area will be available only if vacancies exist.

Families will be contacted by MacGregor State School if the school has a vacancy when an out-of-catchment enrolment becomes available, usually in Term 4.
All Expression of Interest applications will remain on the waiting list until school commences the following year.
