Last week and this week we are fortunate to be hosting presenters from Elephant Ed at our school. Hosting Elephant Ed brings a range of educational, wellbeing, and community benefits — especially around consent, respectful relationships, and online safety.
Some of the key benefits include:
- Engaging, student-friendly delivery
Elephant Ed uses young, relatable facilitators and discussion-based workshops that students often respond to more openly than traditional classroom lessons. - Curriculum-aligned content
Their programs are mapped to Australian State and National curriculum guidelines, helping schools meet wellbeing and respectful relationships education requirements. - Evidence-based education
Workshops are developed with input from experts in education, sexual health, youth work, and mental health, including collaboration with La Trobe University. - Supports student wellbeing and school culture
Programs focus on consent, communication, inclusion, healthy relationships, and online safety — helping create a safer and more respectful school environment. - Trusted provider status
Elephant Ed is recognised by the eSafety Commissioner as a Trusted eSafety Provider, which adds credibility to their online safety education. - Whole-school approach
They offer sessions not only for students, but also for parents and staff, helping schools create consistent messaging across the community. - Flexible for different school communities
Their workshops can be adapted for different age groups, school values, and cultural or religious contexts. - Strong reach and experience
Since 2015, they’ve worked with over 500 schools and delivered programs to more than 200,000 participants across Australia.
This is the second year that we have hosted Elephant Ed at our school, this year adding a parent webinar session. This was held on the 7th May and we welcomed over 100 participants who joined out presenters online from 6pm to 7pm. Thanks to one of our Guidance Officers Ms Megan Hunt who helped moderate the session.Bottom of Form
Students from Prep and Year 1 had their sessions last week and every day this week the students from all other year levels will hold their sessions.
Sessions are held in each classroom, and the class teacher remains in the room with the students. Sessions run for approximately 1 hour and are tailored to the students age group.
Feedback from the session held across the Prep and Year 1 classrooms was extremely positive and the engagement from the students was extremely high.
